The Effect of Learning Motivation and Family Environment towards the Mathematics Learning Achievement of Affected Local Community Students of SD YPS Singkole Academic Year 2018/2019
Abstract
This study used an ex post facto design with a quantitative approach that aimed to determine the effect of: (1) Learning motivation towards mathematics learning achievement of Local Affected (MLT) students of SD YPS Singkole in academic year 2018/2019. (2) Family support towards mathematics learning achievement of Local Affected Community (MLT) students at YPS Singkole Elementary School 2018/2019. (3) Motivation of learning and family environment together towards the mathematics learning achievement of the Affected Local Community (MLT) students of YPS Singkole Elementary School 2018/2019. The sample in this study were all MLT students in grade IV-VI SD YPS Singkole in the academic year 2018/2019 which amounted to 50 students, namely 15% of the total students according to the quota number in the implementation of New Student Admission (PPDB). Data collection techniques used questionnaire and documentation methods. The questionnaire method was used to obtain data on learning motivation and family environment, while the documentation method was to reveal data on mathematics learning achievement. Instrument validity test used Product Moment correlation, and reliability test used Alpha Cronbach's formula. Analysis prerequisite test consisted of normality, linearity, and multicollinearity tests. The data analysis technique used was simple regression analysis for the first hypothesis (X1 - Y) and the second hypothesis (X2 - Y) and multiple regression analysis for the third hypothesis (X1 X2 - Y). The results of the study show that: (1) There were a positive and significant influence between learning motivation on the mathematics learning achievement of MLT SD YPS Singkole students in the academic year 2018/2019, with rx1y = 0.887; r2x1y = 0.551; and tcount> ttable is 7.671> 2.011. (2) There were a positive and significant influence between the family environment on the mathematics learning achievement of MLT SD YPS Singkole students in the academic year 2018/2019, with rx2y = 0.792; r2x2y = 0.229; and tcount> ttable which is 3.774>2.011. (3) There were a positive and significant influence between learning motivation and family environment together on the mathematics learning achievement of MLT SD YPS Singkole students in academic year 2018/2019, with Ry(1,2) = 0.763; R2y(1,2) = 0.583; and Fcount> Ftable which is 32.800>3.19.
