Abstract

There are several factors that influence the achievement of a diabetic diet, including the selection of a good food menu, with or without sport activities and the price of food. In the diet process of Diabetes Mellitus there are also various obstacles, including the increasing price of food and the amount of nutrient needs in consuming food. The purpose of this research was to determine the optimal cost of food menu for people with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in North Luwu Regency. The data presented were primary data obtained from Hikmah Masamba Hospital and Masamba Central Market. The data obtained was formed in a linear program model. The results showed that the optimal solution for food menu costs for people with Diabetes Mellitus in North Luwu Regency with fulfilled nutritional needs were analyzed with the help of Lindo software. 59,679.89 and without sport activities Rp. 19,623.05. To meet these nutritional needs, those who exercise can consume white rice 5,820 grams, boiled 8.540 grams and shredded chicken 0.62 grams, while without exercise were white rice 1,554 grams, boiled eggs 1,666 grams and shredded chicken 0,857 grams.
